Les Scènes Estivales- Biarritz Grande Plage

A concert review by Croque Vinyl (translated from French)

And here we go again for another edition of the unmissable Scènes Estivales in 2025!
Beachside concerts, surfers riding the waves, and sunsets await—it’s going to be epic! The quartet graced the festival with their deafening sound!

It was in the divine light of the end of the day that the band took to the stage. Once the “PLAY” button was pressed, the band explored the golden years of rock ‘n’ roll. Their mission: to find a way to bring a sublime legacy to life by giving it a contemporary edge without distorting it.

With precise riffs and a titanium rhythm section, punctuated by moments of six-string bravura, the band seemed to have pushed the boundaries and improvisations tonight. Jason elegantly, confidently, and skillfully blends rhythm and blues and rock ‘n’ roll, in top form, almost trance-like, even rapping a few seconds of “We Will Rock You” in the middle of a wall of sound, with the delighted audience singing along with him!

The quartet closes this invigorating Californian evening with the raucous “New Orleans” and its roguish choruses.

Between binary authority and “heavy” standards, the audience, more reverent than hooliganish, savors the joy of letting themselves go to these hoppy hits! Won over after a two-hour show, they raise their arms and sing along to the final encore, Johnny B. surely still ringing in their ears once the amps are turned off…

Croque V. can attest that this was surely one of their best concerts.
Thanks to the two technicians for the sound and lights, which were top-notch as always.

Thanks to Carole, Nathalie, and Pierrick for the photos. Muxu.
