As part of my work with the Paris-based organisation, Engage with Refugees, I’m excited to be apart of the launching of their new project, ‘Les Voix de L’Exil’. Over the last several weeks I’ve been working with several artists / musicians, who recently arrived in France as refugees. These talented artists / musicians are working to not only share their music and culture, but to also change the conversation with regard to how we perceive refugees. As part of the project, we are working to record a song from each artist at a pro recording studio in Paris and distribute their music collectively as an album via online platforms. Each song shares a unique story that helps to facilitate a mutual understanding and an empathetic link between us all.
